"Rote Kapelle" was a search and collection name of the Gestapo and radio defense corps in the Wehrmacht, which the latter used since the beginning of the war against the Soviet Union for Nazi opponents with suspected or actual radio contacts to the Soviet Union.
The network included up to 400 women and men of different political world views and social backgrounds, artists, intellectuals, civil servants, military, students, workers, doctor. They initially met and acted independently of each other in smaller groups and circles of friends.
The contact with Moscow was the fate of the resistance group. In the summer of 1942 the German military defence intercepted a Soviet radio message, in which Harro Schulze-Boysen was given clear names. Between August 1942 and spring 1943, the Gestapo arrested 126 alleged collaborators whom it attributed to the group. They were sentenced to death or to high prison sentences for "espionage", "preparation for high treason" or "favouring the enemy".

Voice off:
I am currently a student at the University of Potsdam. I study history and cultural studies.
The so-called limited presence emergency operation is now being introduced at the University of Potsdam. First of all, this means that the start of the study has been postponed. And when it starts, probably in late April, it will begin digitally. How the courses will take place will change radically. Everything will probably be more in writing. You will be less able to communicate directly with each other. It will definitely be more difficult.
