Notes: LABRIS Magazine(1962 - 1973) was the most advanced experimental poetry magazine in Flanders (Lier, Belgium) of the 60s directed by Max Kazan, Leon van Essche, Marcel van Maele and Hugo Neefs during their first five volumes (from the second joined Wybrand Ganzevoort, Ivo Vroom and others ). From year six to the end, the tenth, the editorial was led by Edmond Devoghelaere, Pierre Anthonissen, Frans Denissen and Paul Lambrechts, among others. The old guard, however, remained active at the editorial level. Internationally recognized magazine that published innovative works in the field of concrete and visual poetry, with contributions, in that field, from all the greats, such as: Chopin, Orlovsky, Bukowski, Sanders, Cobbing, Heidsieck, Finlay and others.
After the period of the fifties and fifties of Flanders, a proliferation of magazines emerged in the 1960s, of which Labris was the most idiosyncratic, uncompromising and experimental. Labris' editorial team was severe and was not willing to follow an open policy towards a wider audience. They had continuous debates. For them Labris was the only magazine that constantly preached literary renewal. The great heterogeneity in the editorial team resulted in many editorial problems.
(*) Year VIII corresponds to 1970. The previous number( 3rd of year 8) is from autumn of 1970 and the following one January 9, 1972. As they were published by seasons this number would have corresponded with the winter of 1970 but I cannot find confirmation. (I don't know what happens in 1971).
