L00p8L00p∞ is a half hour live cinema, audio looping performance featuring Kristin Cato on violin and Cindy Sawprano with the musical saw and operatic vocals beneath swoopy projections that include spiders tiptoeing, a disembodied heart, a ghostly mime and a gypsy curse! The piece enumerates the many loops within and without us, swirling biologically, psychologically, cosmically, and filmically with pulmonary pathways, scribblings, planetary orbits, and jumping ropes! It begins with the breath and ends with eternity.
L00p8L00p∞ is a portion of The Numbers Project, a larger project about whole numbers, their shapes, associations, spiritual meanings and cultural roles. It travels from Zero to Infinity with images drawn from 16mm archival math and science films.
