In part 2 of this 4-part series, join Paul LeBuffe as he goes in depth about the need to assess SEL skills, stressing formative assessment. He'll explain why children who have strong social and emotional skills perform better in school and provide an understanding of what to look for in any assessment to get clues about the resilience of a child. Paul will also introduce you to a 72-item SEL assessment - The Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) - and a universal screener, DESSA-Mini. He will also review how to interpret the assessment results.
