dear Kenya,

you are the most beautiful place i’ve ever been

as i walk through the streets with the dirt beneath my feet, it all feels so familiar

your bumpy roads no longer bother me

my love for you has only grown for you in the past 5 years

all i see is beauty around me.

i cannot imagine my life before visiting you & meeting your people

i have learned to love like never before

your children have become my own

each one so precious & beautiful.

thank you for the emotions i’ve learned to embrace- love, joy, & hope. but also pain & heartbreak

thank you for the friends i’ve made along the way

thank you for the family i’ve gained

thank you for making me feel like i belong

thank you for all the lesson’s i’ve learned along the way

you’ve taught me how to dance.. & to dance in the rain

you’ve taught me the importance of education

thank you for all the memories

thank you for changing my life, i am who i am now because of you

you’ve inspired me to become a better person

you will forever be my home.
