Woree Aquatic and Sports Centre played host to over 200 of our brightest young swimming prospects at the end of June, as the Australian Bio Island Junior Excellence clinics took to the water in Cairns.
The Bio Island Junior Excellence Program was established to recognise, reward and incentivise junior swimmers who are on part of their swimming journey, learning and refining as they develop into senior swimmers.
Two clinics ran for 9-13 year-olds and 13-18 year-olds, giving the opportunity for junior athletes from FNQ Swimming and the wider swimming community to participate in a fun filled session of swimming and learning.
The next wave of Australian swimmers were treated to a clinic lead by a host of swimming superstars including National Youth Coach Glenn Beringen, Leisel Jones OAM, Meagen Nay and Andrew Lauterstein.
