Bay Area Black Youth Tech-a-Thon 2019 (or BABYTech) orchestrates and leverages the many different existing efforts to teach black youth STEAM. Our program is comprised into a series of educational classes, science and tech demonstrations and competitive challenges designed to encourage and challenge all black youth to design and present a creative solution to a pre-defined challenge/objective to win cash, prizes, scholarships and more.

BABYTech focuses on the Silicon Valley’s design team process, teaching black youth how to best work in groups by adding their unique skills and talents to the team’s mix to successfully accomplish a task or goal. The skills learned at the Tech-a-thon are the necessary skills needed for the 21 st century workforce and future business owners.
