Hi, I’m Eddie Blanton, 2020 president of CCIM Institute.

We’re heading into fall – a change of season. And there are plenty of welcome changes happening here at the institute.

To help share the good news on what we’ve accomplished so far this year and the changes you can look forward to, the five 2020 presidential liaisons have filmed short videos to tell the story of each of their areas: Technology, Education, International, Membership, and Member Services.

Look for those in CCIM Institute’s Insider e-newsletter, published twice a month. The series of five videos began in late July and will run through the end of September. But you can catch them anytime online on CCIM Institute’s Vimeo channel.

And online is where we’ll be this fall for both the CCIM Institute Annual Governance Meetings and the CCIM Global Conference. Last year, we changed the game with the CCIM Global Conference in San Diego. And this year, we’re doing it again. We’re adding more critical insights from industry thought leaders and CCIM instructors to help you prepare for 2021. And here’s the best part: It’s all free for CCIM Institute members.

And now I saved the best for last. It’s one of my most favorite roles as president – that’s welcoming new designees into the global CCIM family! So, I’d like to invite you all in joining me to congratulate the 113 candidates who passed the CCIM Comprehensive Exam last week to become official designees.

Thank you to the local chapters and regional officers who help us offer the exam in 10 different locations across the U.S. and Canada. It was important that the institute honor our candidates and all their hard work and commitment over the years toward earning this esteemed designation and create a safe environment to allow them a chance to sit for the exam and finish what they started.

I’ve been lucky to see many new CCIM designees receive their lapel pin over the years, but I’m especially proud of this group.

Now, more than ever, commercial real estate investors and operators need the expertise and sophisticated analysis that CCIMs are known for, and there are now 113 more industry professionals leveraging the power of the pin for their firms and clients.

Change is not something to be feared but embraced – especially in commercial real estate, an industry that’s ever-evolving. I’ve shared a lot of wonderful changes happening here at the institute.

But even if the change is disruptive, like we see in some sectors of the industry now, you know you can rely on CCIM Institute to help you find the opportunities that are always present and to arm you with the skills and practical tools you need to adapt and overcome any challenges.
