On the AR1K Smart Farm, Berkeley Lab scientists are working with the University of Arkansas and Glennoe Farms to advance the science of on-farm soil management, sensing, and data informatics. The project brings together molecular biology, biogeochemistry, environmental sensing technologies, and machine learning in an effort to understand the role microbial communities play in healthy and productive soils. The goal is to develop a technological platform for sustainable agriculture.
