Short, mobile, and material activities, easily transported into existing spaces like science festivals, museum galleries, and classrooms, provide accessible engagements with animal research. We engage through commonplace practices (e.g. humour, games, and craft) to disrupt preconceptions about animal research. Playful conversations are encouraged through familiar tactile activities; these do not demand high levels of knowledge or polarise debate, but use objects to share stories, cultivate curiosity, and explore animal research and care as relatable ‘everyday’ work.
