Laurie Moncrieff, Executive Director, Restructuring Skills through Innovation & Technology (ReSET) will educate on the importance of Intellectual Property for small businesses who participate in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and assist in understanding intellectual property (IP). Laurie was formerly the Executive Director of DEFENSEWERX where the focus was to accelerate the process of getting technologies into the Department of Defense through connecting small businesses with DoD opportunities. She will further direct the audience to existing resources that can be used to properly guide small businesses.

John Moran will join Laurie to educate on intellectual property, providing clarifications and answering questions from a legal perspective. John is a resident attorney at Holland & Knight in Washington, D.C. and has extensive experience in litigating patent, trademark and trade secret cases for clients ranging from small businesses to multi-national corporations. Mr. Moran's experiences have led him to be called upon to testify as an expert witness on patent issues.
