LGBTQ people in regional and rural areas often face disproportionate challenges, often related to lack of community awareness and increased stigma and prejudice that reinforce a level of exclusion often not experienced in metropolitan areas.

This session is open to everyone who is interested in learning more about the LGBTQ inclusion across workplaces, health settings and sport. This is an interactive session where questions are encouraged and discussions are held by panellists in a respectful and safe environment.

By the end of the session participants will:
- Hear from leaders across a brad range of industries about the business case for LGBTQ inclusion and why it is important for regional and rural areas to work in this space.
- Understand some of the lived experiences and unique challenges for LGBTQ people.
- Leave with some introductory actions individuals and organisations can take away to create more inclusive cultures in regional and rural settings.

This event will provide some insights into disparities experience in regional/rural areas compared to metropolitan work, health, and sport settings, though the results of the 2021 AWEI Employee Survey, PSI National Survey, and HWEI National Survey, presented by Beau Newell (National Program Manager with ACON's Pride Inclusion Programs).

We will also be joined by a special guests. We will hear from these leaders about the importance of leadership, senior visibility and how they have impacted LGBTQ inclusion within their capacity.
