Here's a couple of the songs from ABC Illawarra's Nick Rheinberger's song cycle about the Fires. Beautiful stories of life under the bushfire emergency: including 'What you take and What you leave'; a Hymn to 'Elvis the water bomber' and a lament from the widow of the fallen RFS volunteer from the Buxton fires. I wrote the YARN BOMB WALTZ, an ode to the knitters and sewing bees across the country making pouches for the joeys and gloves for koalas. Thanks to @Therese Gregory for the pics of the pouches and Thanks to Daniel Coburn for taking these videos!
The idea is to take these on the road eventually to RFS halls and communities effected by the emergency. To help heal and allow communities to tell their own stories and share songs. Awesome.
