This was the "dembafoli", wedding celebratory party held in the home of ngoni player Bassekou Kouyaté for his niece Penda. This film clip was shot by Elisabeth Stoudmann when we were there together for the Aga Khan Music Programme, and it shows the janjigi dance which comes specifically from Segou, with its coordinated movements.
