WALKING FOR HAPPINESS

I actually wanted to talk about how walking regularly in the open air has made me much happier and less depressed, even surprisingly so, but then I lost focus and went off on a wild rant about death.

My Very Last Life Chapter 35.

When I turned 60 I resolved to live my last good 20 years as if they were the first twenty, but knowing more than I did then. This podcast is my journal of that journey.

PROGRESS REPORT

I have been tracking my production and am shocked that it is so little in terms of hours spent each day actually writing. I have way too much on my plate and the little pauses between bouts of writing really add up. Tracking that, and this week I will try to improve on the sheer hours spent actually writing.

Weight: Anticipating reaching my weight goal this month, I am experimenting with ways of transitioning from losing weight to maintaining (not re-gaining) weight: The current idea is to fast (no alc, no carbs, 1 meal a day) 4 days a week Monday to Thursday and eat whatever I want Fri. to Sun. Experimenting with it starting this week.

Social: Kind of lonely this week, but planning a few things for the weeks to come.

Habits: Listened to “10 Pillars of Success“ – I have to find the time to sit down and ruminate on the notes I made - that’s the habit of “Maintenance,” which I generally neglect.

Gratitude: I am grateful for financial help from the state during Corona, I am grateful for friends who sent me advice on making cookies, I am grateful for good self-help books, which are really quite well-developed nowadays.

Books I have been reading this week:

The Broken Sword by Poul Anderson
The Ten Pillars of Success by Josephine Perry
Self-Confidence by Paul McGee
The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
White Fang by Jack London
The Sailor who Fell from Grace with the Sea by Yukio Mishima
