A PREMIERE is coming: ‘Third choice’ by choreographer Sagí Amir Gross, is a creation for three male dancers, which investigates the relationship between dance, music and theater.
The three men are exploring their personal choices, within the group’s dynamic, together with authentic, grounded physicality, connectivity and dis-connectivity, to the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. The music is a repetitive moment, taken from a rehearsal of Rachmaninov’s famous 2nd & 3rd concertos. It is played from the Instagram profile of a pianist, while she was randomly ‘’testing’’ a new piano in Paris.
The repetition of the music in a rehearsal, on the Instagram account of the pianist, creates friction and tension between the three men and how we perceived information during the 21st century. It is exposing the men to their differences in forms of masculinity and individuality together with the fragility of the music.
