Hi everyone, hope you’re feeling well! :) I’m super proud of how this edit turned out and so, this time I wanted to explain a little bit about it - if anybody wants to hear it:
‘Red Desert’ and ‘The Runner’ are the two first songs of the second part of a project called ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’, by the band FOALS. While the first part is all about the burning issues of our time - climate change, political uncertainty and mental health problems - and how everything will be lost if we don’t take care of ourselves and the world around us, the second one takes another turn. ‘ENSWBL - Part 2’ brings a survivor’s point of view, by telling us the story of someone who has fought against all of the obstacles and is starting to pull themself together to move on from all of the pain and fear.
My goal here was to tell this story through the eyes of some of my favorite characters and show to you how courage, inner strength, and even fear, can help us fight against the problems we may encounter inside or outside of ourselves. And above all, to show you how we shouldn’t run away or hide how we feel, but fight back and use our voice and strength to overcome what we might encounter through life.
