Part of the ongoing body of work – The Pathological Museum – I observe myself as a host of the mental diseases passed down by colonization & globalization; a hybrid, product of the persistent past and inevitable future. In the background I sing an old children's song that talks about going to a white mans house to receive two shillings. The song was popular in Tanzania but many tribes have different versions of the song - all unsure of what was bought with the two shillings. I observe myself as a door; this is a ritual of acceptance of the new thing I have become- a carrier of two worlds.
