"Glimpses of the dancer running in open air, alternating with instances of him dancing in front of closed curtains, in a more restricted frame.
Were these images captured in a single day or over many? Since for a dancer moving, standing still, breathing, observing, dancing are daily activities we find it hard to understand. The running is fast, but unsure, as if lost or confused, but the dancing is clear, honest: the arms of the dancer speak to us, and the movements reach our eyes filtered through a black and white pattern, as a counterpoint to the scenes in the outside world. The outdoors explode with colour, the indoors find their balance in sepia tones: in all likelihood this contrast portrays the sensations we got to experience during the lockdown.
The triumphant song chosen as soundtrack for the video is disturbed, numbed by indefinite sounds, covered by some breaths that seem exhaled by the performer himself.
The actions we see in the video might be seen as common or normal, but they still reach a deeper meaning felt during the past lockdown, and Stavros seems like to want to underline the beauty he found when he re-discovered activities he once hadn't seem to notice before: going back to basics doesn’t mean going back at all."
