One of my all time favorite dance tunes by one of the most novel and distinguished bands ever: Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs! I don't remember one silent second when I spun this record after the infamous 'Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro' intro: cheers, screams and lots of dancing! Dancing on the bar and on table tops! This was when the saxophone was still being used for lead solos in rock and roll as they were rapidly being replaced by guitar solos. Yet this may be one of the most memorable saxophone performances in rock music ever! What a long way the instrument had come since "Shake, Rattle, and Roll." The crowd pleaser in this song though, nonetheless, is the organ and its opening strains ... seems the best rock songs of the 60's had a good organist in the band from The Animals to The Blues Magoos.

From Wikipedia: "Wooly Bully" was the band's first and biggest hit. It became a worldwide success, selling three million copies and reaching No. 2 on the American Hot 100 chart on June 5–12, 1965.
