故事大綱

在泰國布吉，剛創立了「大象天堂保育中心」，收養退役的、年老的家象，讓牠們不用工作，留在森林裡安享晚年。剛生於象伕家庭，自小與象為伴，隨父親學習養象知識。年約十五歲便中途輟學，立志當上全職象伕，與象在山林裡生活，給伐木公司運木頭，為家庭賺取生計。隨著泰國社會經濟轉型，剛與象從事過不同職業，如馬戲團、街頭賣藝、賣水果、苦力、騎象旅遊等。這段同甘共苦的經歷，令剛下定決心，要為大象建立一個最終的歸宿，就算奉獻自己的所有，也在所不惜。因為對剛而言，大象早已不只是一頭經濟動物，而是與家人無異的生靈。

Elephants not for Sale
Synopsis

Kong, being a mahout making a living on elephants for 39 years, now sets up a “Phuket Elephant Heaven” in Phuket, Thailand. What makes up his mind to pour all his mights into creating a sanctuary for the old and sick elephants retiring from their hard working life?

Born in a family raring elephants, Kong as a child learns all the skills to tame these gigantic animals. In the age of 15, Kong is already a capable and reliable mahout. He and his elephants worked for circus, tree logging, tourist riding, everything that could feed his family. After all sheds of tears and sweats, he comes to realise one thing, he loves these pure and loyal elephants, not as money-making tools, not as assets ready to be sold, but as important members of his family.
