Before the watches of night
So I can meditate
On Your promise, oh Lord give me life
Oh, I am small and despised,
But Your promise has been tried,
Your testimonies and Your word
Have become my delight
Righteous are You
And right are Your rules
All of them made in faithfulness
Well, my enemies forget
But my heart is set
On all of Your ways and Your promises
Before dawn I arise
And I hope in Your words
Oh Lord hear my cry
According to Your steadfast love
Trouble and anguish have found me out
By Your love and justice, Oh my God,
You’d save me now
Righteous are You
And right are Your rules
All of them made in faithfulness
Well, my enemies forget
But my heart is set
On all of Your ways and Your promises
And when I can’t keep, keep Your law perfectly
I will repent, believe, look up and receive Your mercy
When my heart and my flesh fail,
And my zeal is not enough
I’ll remember and give thanks for the One who came to fulfill the law
Jesus, righteous were You, You kept all of the rules
And You covered my sins with Your faithfulness
You raised me to life, called me to abide
Saying “if you love me,
Then you’ll keep my commands"
Apart from You I can’t keep Your commands
Oh help me to keep Your commands
