Good question - probably not, but I thought that during these unnerving and uncertain times we could all do with a little light relief and distraction here and there. SO - after discussing thoroughly with the Queen and the Royal family, it was decided for the morale of the country - THIS SONGWRITER’S PODCAST WOULD TRUNDLE ON AT IT’S GRINDING SNAIL PACE. When the country calls ... ‘Owlheads’ will always unite and do the right thing! SO - to Episode 7 - what to expect?
You’ll hear a rare refreshed b.side of mine inspired by a quote of Oscar Wilde’s. You’ll learn how an 8O’s revival live concert inspired an up-tempo rebellion in me - and how watching Wang Chung perform, instigated a song written about an ancient Egyptian funeral ritual ��
I’ll touch upon the ‘big hair’ era, playing an original demo of a hit that lit up MTV. Followed by an unheard demo from the vault that conjures up reggae thoughts of ‘skinheads, suede heads and smoothies’ and a warm cuppa (It’s an English 70s thing). You’ll hear how a public rest room can inspire one of the most romantic songs I’ve ever written - I’m baffled too. I’ll spin a rare demo of a song I performed live on the ‘House of Stone and Light’ tour... purely written to bolster my very thin set list. And along with a brand new song that promotes the virtues and dedication of a mothers love, the usual utter rubbish and nonsense will profusely spew from my mouth. Of course the deeply loved - I mean deeply loathed quiz - will make it’s routine painful appearance, and I will attempt to entertain you with the usual buffoonery.
