Log Line:
The glow of a lightbulb, the whir of a ceiling fan, the crackling of a radio, combining to build a disconnected, yet somewhat familiar world.

Synopsis:
The film opens with the flick of a switch. The frame is shrouded in light. We fade into an interior shot, looking out of a window to a fence on an overcast day. A light wind rustles in the background. We cut to a framed photo of a toddler playing on the beach. Layered on top is an image of a digital clock, flashing the time: 7:33. 7:33. 7:33.

We then suddenly cut to black. We hear the quiet crackling of a radio, followed by the mindless whir of a ceiling fan. It’s late. It’s dark. It’s unclear where we are, but everything is oddly familiar. Where are we? What is our purpose being here?

The soundscape is thickened by the reverberated plunk of droplets from a distant tap. This soundscape builds to a surrealist climax, incorporating disconnected sounds with images of lights shot with a low ISO. Lights that would otherwise be identifiable and relatable are now abstract and alien.

This climax is quickly dismantled with the soft pattering of rain. The radio plays a simple yet eerie piano melody over a back and forth between the toddler, and an extreme closeup of a man. The man’s eyes are glazed over, hollow. Lonely, longing for a past so innocent, now irretrievable.

Things finally come to a close. The radio stops crackling. The lights turn off, the fan stops spinning. We return to darkness. This world, so familiar yet also so distant, is now history, the subject of imagination.
