Reel Breakdown:
Shot 1: "My Star, My Heart"
- All made from scratch and made it all myself with the exception to reference tutorials on how to create the planet and interstellar scenery.
- Art Foundations project made at Montana State University, goal was to put a human sense into visual perspective. This piece was inspired by a dream I had two years ago where I felt was through a "sixth sense," where in psychological terms, one only sensed with the mind. The dream was animated with a "Japanimation" style that I felt could be pursued once I better my animation/modeling skills.
Shot 2: UNSTOPPABLE
- All made from scratch and made it all myself with the exception of reference of character profile pictures of the figure on the left and a picture of a closed fist facing forward.
- Uploaded on my YouTube channel as a lyric video's cover art. Purpose was to apply a fictional character with a song that best suited their personality and to make a scene that conveyed that feeling that character gave off as well as the song. Illustrating myself for a personal touch; something I plan to do with other lyrical videos in my future.
Shot 3: Walking Cycle - Staying Alive
- Character was provided by Dane Webster, but I did do the animation, camera panning, and lighting.
- "Staying Alive" was added to the title because I felt it gave that vibe.
Shot 4: Bouncing Ball
- Did the animation mainly, not entirely sure if Dane Webster provided the scene w/ ball, pillar, and lighting.
Shot 5 and 6: Conceptual Book Cover - The Four by Scott Galloway
- Made the entire front, back, and side panel of the cover. Did not make the generic, male bathroom figure and all logos present on the jacket belong to their respected owners.
- Graphic Design project made at Montana State University, goal was to read a book we were assigned and conceptualize a book jacket that was more interesting, yet simplistic. The Four was made by Scott Galloway who talked about the four largest corporations in the world: Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Apple and how they are integrated into our daily lives; placement of the logos on the figure depict knowledge (Google), emotion (Facebook), consumption (Amazon), and natural selection/sex (Apple). In society today, people rely/search on Google for help/knowledge, Facebook connects with many people globally, Amazon has pretty much anything you want to buy, and having an Apple product conveys a feeling of "alphaism."
Shot 7 - 9: Flying Car and Interior Set: The Flying Dutchman and Part of Bikini Bottom
- Using reference photos and with the help of Paul Conner and Jeremy Brown, modeling the Flying Car was done by myself as well as texturing (found from Textures.com) and lighting. Made to look old and rigged, giving off a powerful/fearful feeling like the Flying Dutchman in the Spongebob series.
- Interior set was inspired by the ongoing television series, "Spongebob Squarepants," and shows Spongebob's pineapple, Squidward's tiki, and Patrick's rock; modeling, texturing, and lighting was made by me with reference photos of all their houses.
Shot 10 and 11: Boxee Play
- Boxee character set was provided by Dane Webster, did the animation, set, and camera pan myself.
Shot 12: Finger Puppet
- Finger Puppet character made by me with the help of Dane Webster but scene, animations, and lighting were also made by me.
