I try to get in at least one hike wherever I travel, and since I was in western Pennsylvania for an Endurance Karting race at Pitsburgh International Raceway, I chose McConnells Mill State Park. I hiked Hells Hollow Trail to Hells Hollow Falls and the Lawrence Furnace, before doubling back to the Shaffer Road Trailhead, then heading east on Slippery Rock Gorge Trail down Hell Run, then up Slippery Rock Creek, past Walnut Flats and Eckert Bridge, all the way to the end at the McConnell's Mill covered bridge.
