We acknowledge that things are different. COVID has made gathering in-person challenging and changed the way we do church. We believe that discipleship must not stop because of a virus. Discipleship is who we are all the time, no matter what is going on around us.
What you should know:
1. Discipleship starts at home.
Before we begin caring for one another we must care for those in our own homes. Individuals and families should prioritize their spiritual health over all other things. This fall we are making it possible for families to re-center themselves around God's Word. If you are unable to make it to an in-person service or group, don't let that keep you or your family from having a healthy walk with God. We are challenging each family to make a priority of consistent, intentional times of spiritual discussion, bible reading, and prayer.
2. Discipleship happens with others.
If you are physically able to, we must be following the Bible instructions to care for one another. As a church, we are encouraging every believer, as often as possible, to gather together with others outside of their immediate family for additional times of spiritual discussion, bible reading, and prayer. Whether you decide to join with a group of friends, meet with your life group, or attend a growth group, we need each other to continue strong in our faith.
3. Intentional discipleship times include these three ingredients: spiritual discussion, bible reading, and prayer.
We believe that these three ingredients work together to promote spiritual health. Having consistent, focused times of discipleship is vital to the spiritual health and success of the church body.
How to participate?
1. Meet with your family and/or group.
2. Use the provided resources or resources of your own to have an intentional time of spiritual discussion, bible reading, and prayer.
3. Submit the Group Recap form weekly, along with any prayer requests or comments.
The church will be releasing a weekly Family Group Guide. You will be able to print this guide or access a digital version on the Church Center app. The guide will include:
- A special sermon review video from Pastor Tony to watch with your family or group.
- Discussion & review questions to assist you in leading in a spiritual discussion.
- A Bible reading selection for you to read aloud.
- Tips to guide your family or group in prayer.
Our goal is to promote consistent discipleship moments that produce spiritual fruit in the lives of every single person who is part of our church family.
