How does future actually sound?

To Volkswagen, this is not a stranger, as the sound of the new ID3 is the result of an extensive design process.
Round about 200 guests were invited to the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum in order to listen to the future of electromobility first-time. Head of Volkswagen Group Design, Klaus Bischoff, presented a variety of noises and sounds of the new vehicle.

Following this presentation, a couple of guests with entirely different approaches to the subject showed us which sounds we can encounter apart from the ones just heard.
William Russell from MONOM monomsound.com presented his immersive 4D sound system from the “Berliner Funkhaus” and also brought along the deep ambient sound right away. Prof. Dr. Brigitte Schulte-Fortkamp explained from the perspective of psychoacoustics why cities (will) sound so differently. Sarah Young from Mimi Hearing Technologies mimi.io illustrated her technology of sound personalization for the perfect sound and Matthias Röder, CEO of the Karajan Institute karajan-institut.org provided exciting insights into the world of music and Artificial Intelligence.

As a special guest of the evening, International Music Award winner and artist of the legendary 4AD label Holly Herndon finally rounded off the event by singing a chorus.

The future? Sounds good!
