The 3rd completed project video!

Welcome onboard the Royal Clipper for a night time sail away from Barbados. The departure and raising of the sails, complete with light show and stirring music, is truly epic and you are on the main deck with your fellow passengers to take it all in! Sailors work around you while stewards make sure your champagne flute is full.

Hopefully, this short vid can help capture and convey the feeling of being there. A tall ship, especially a square rigger, with all sails unfurled and lights illuminating the canvas is a sight few people get to see.

The Royal Clipper sailed out of the Barbados Cruise Port like this, with hundreds of people on adjacent cruise ships lining the railings to get a gimps of her!

The vid opens and closes with the sound of wind under the music. That is the actual sound of wind in the rigging of the Royal Clipper, recorded by me late one night when there were no other passengers or crew around.

The music that is actually played during the sail raising is "Conquest of Paradise" a 1992 song recorded by Greek composer Vangelis. It was the soundtrack from Ridley Scott's 1992 film "1492: Conquest of Paradise". It isn't used here because I can't get a license to use it, but thought I'd reference it for those who may be curious.

For those technically inclined, no additional light was used. Camera was a C200 with a special low-light picture profile that I wrote, shooting at ISO 12,000 with a Canon 17-55 f2.8 lens (60fps with 180 degree shutter).
