When scoring Hugh Hudson's 1985 film REVOLUTION, composer John Corigliano suggested to the director that the scene might have more impact if the sound effects were removed, and the footage accompanied by music alone.
Hudson however ultimately decided the sequence would be better served by a more "realistic" approach, and opted for a blend of sound effects, dialog and music.
This clip presents the battle scene as John Corigliano envisioned, with the "diagetic" audio removed, and the score allowed to serve as the exclusive dramatic audio component.
