Aagaards Glasplader is a collection of high-resolution portrait photos from 1857-1880.
At Hack4dk 2019 I trained a StyleGAN model to generate new portraits of non-existing people using RunwayML.
Using DeOldify the images were colorised and I created interpolating movies with p5js to explore the latent space of the model.
I used short historical biographies as prompts for text generation model GPT-2 in order to have it dream of how peoples lives might have been.
The interactive prototype was built in Processing with GPT-2 communication via RunwayML.
