Synopsis
The experimental film “A New Routine” follows a protagonist through daily life in isolation. We see our protagonist, we can hear them at times. As the days go by we get to see the new routine that has been acquired, through mundane activities such as making a coffee, turning the TV on to see the news, and studying, we also get to see the beauty that one can have on their own such as listening to music, sitting outside or walking around in the backyard to hear nature. Then the problems of being alone and stuck in a routine that cannot change at their convenience, as the days go by they start to lose their mind, activities start to lose their meaning and life becomes disjointed almost like a terrible dream.
Log-line
We follow the life of a person that is in isolation by themselves. Happy, sad and then slowly descending into loneliness and madness as time moves on and their only company are their thoughts and activities in a situation that they cannot control.
