The video itself is an example of "if you film only what you need, editing can be done in one minute".

To be able to do that you have to make a plan before you start filming. In this case I knew I wanted to make an impression of the boat everyone that was on the boat should be in the video. I took my camera and made 3 second shots of everyone. 3 seconds is the maximum length of shots in a video when you edit it. The human brain gets bored after 3 seconds so to keep a video interesting for the viewer, change shot after 3 seconds.

But I did not need to edit anything in particular. Since my shots were 3 seconds long, I moved them from my camera to my laptop, opened Windows Moviemaker and imported them all. Then I did "select all" and applied a standard animation to all shots, so they moved smoothly from one shot into the next. Then I added a picture at the end and added music.

Voila, The video was made in ONE MINUTE....
The original music I selected was a joke, the karaoke of Anak by one of our staff, Richard Blom, when he was drunk. At that time I did not know about his past. Later I found out he had a conviction for child abuse in Netherlands. So to let him sing "Anak", which means "Child" is a bit strange.

Now, 7 years later, Richard has a conviction in the Philippines and also in England I heard. I found it time to change the music. All the time the song "Yellow Submarine" was circling around in my head.

So without further thinking I just turned down the video volume and put the song under the video.

Again another example of how the first thing that comes into your head is the right thing. Don't think: act without thinking....
