I bought the large pack for my sister for Christmas, who was asking for something fun for her office.

When we saw a news article about magtrax, I knew it was perfect.

She now has it set up in her office and people get a kick out of running a marble down it when they visit.

The larger pack is a bit expensive but really the best option if you want enough variety to be creative with.

Pros:
Fun variety of track types.
Track types often do very specific things but are versatile enough to be creative with.
Plenty of straight track options as well.
I like that we can buy individual pieces to supplement if necessary.
Perfect for the creative types, and encourages ingenuity.

Cons:
The magnets on the back are not as strong as they could be. The stability of the track is constantly being altered by the weight and jarring of the moving marble. This means that a complete track may only work once or twice before the pieces need readjusting.

The whole family of all ages had a lot of fun on Christmas day playing with all of the many pieces and designing different paths to get it to work just right.
