Location: cotter River ACT, above Vanities Crossing
After a few weeks of scoping possibilities thought I would give this a go in the pack raft. Nice enough walk in Osborne 7km and bit of a bush bash to the river, 4.7km of paddling in beautiful water and gorge setting. Level ok for the pack raft but definitely would be more fun with more water. Finished paddle at vanities Crossing. Pack up and hike back up the hill, vanities road was nice walking Razorback Trail a real slog. Located my stashed bike and did a token finish on the bike.
Pros: most beautiful unspoiled section of river. Pipeline road is always awesome
Cons: if the upper gate to vanities road was open instead of the lower one it would have made the trip easier, and the bike more useful. As it stands wouldn’t bother factoring in a bike again
