When I thought of viruses my mind went to our environmental impact on the world and in particular the Anthropocene (which I named my fake show after). This is a geological term for our "footprint" on the earth, though many geologists hate the term because there haven't actually been any changes to rocks themselves to be considered a new epoch. So how might these changes appear in a sci-fi? I was inspired by the beautiful and deadly virus (and organic systems) in Jeff VanderMeer's The Southern Reach Trilogy. Instead of darkness let the virus be represented through bright iridescent colors and lots of displacement maps. I center the title sequence around a specific rock, a symbolic reference to the Anthropocene. It morphs and changes more dramatically until the final image where it is the world outside that is beginning to change. I had a lot of fun with this and was inspired by the contrast of classical music and art, and a Pushing Daisies dark comedy vibe and pacing. All art and photos are mine, I purchased the jpeg or the rock, and the music is royalty-free! Thanks :)
