In unpleasant times of darkness
I slow down just to think
Of the simple roads and avenues
That seem to be my link
A connection to a small world
Where I was just a runt
Unaware of what may come my way
While I was on the hunt
Looking for adventure
Blue Skies and Open Seas
Abandoned sheds and spaces
That hide within the trees
The itch for exploration
That crawls under my skin
Makes me feel alive again
While I live out this sin
The sin of the confinement
I find myself within
In the big open city
Where no fresh air has been
So I sit back down and close my eyes to simples times once more
Where searching for my purpose was more than just a chore.
