While The Nation Went Bankrupt is a work of creative non-fiction about the so called recovery from the financial crisis of 2008, told through the semi-fictional love letters of JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

While the Nation Went Bankrupt is a sequel to Before The Nation Went Bankrupt, which covered one seminal weekend in September of 2008, where the rules of finance were re-written. The video series is in part an alternative and more libidinal history of our current political and financial crises, and an exploration of the metaphoric creep of the neoliberal ideology into all areas of life. Not quite fiction and not quite satire, the letters are a cry in the dark from an insular world that continue to bring us all to the brink of financial, physical and moral ruin.
