Nature Nurture and friends present: WATERWAY WELLBEING DAY thanks to support from Thames Water and the Thriving Communities Fund.
Welcome to Christchurch Meadows, August 2021. Discover an array of organisations in Reading, supporting our health and wellbeing through nature connection, horticulture and creativity.
Meet The Tree Doctor, what wildlife can you see?
Come look at the bark of this groovy tree
Let's check out these leaves, the doctor's appraisal:
'Your health will benefit from willow and hazel'
Let's use some newspaper, wrap it on wood
A plant pot we've made, that's really good!
Now using a pencil or a pointed scraper,
Make a print on a piece of paper.
Shiver me timbers, oh dear, oh dear,
If I'm not mistaken the pirates are here!
Join the quest to find nature around,
Look up to the sky and on the ground
Tap, tap, tap let's use a mallet,
We've sculpted a fish, there you have it!
The Thames Water, they let us know,
The many ways to save H2O.
Come on a Wild Walk by the rivers edge,
Let's look after wildlife; give us your pledge.
The smelling of nature, let us commence,
These lovely smells, my nostrils sense!
I'll use some lavender, make a posy,
Later on, this'll help me be dozy.
Let's round it all off with a waterway song.
In nature, where we all belong.
