This is a story of people industry and power. A film that explores the history of Britain from ancient times to modern day, told from the port towns of Cardiff and Newport, South Wales.

Thanks to a grant from the heritage Lottery Fund, Urban Circle Productions has given 9 young people from Newport the opportunity to document the history of their local area and how that history has impacted the world.

This project started in May 2015 and in just 5 months the nine young people attended heritage and film making workshops, which lead them to research, plan, film and produce the documentary Wales Untold.

The project aimed to raise awareness about the contribution that black people have made to world history and offered young people from BME backgrounds in Newport the opportunity to deliver their own heritage project, learning about ancient African culture and explored black integration into British society.

Created in partnership with BlackNine Films, Black History Month Wales, Newport YMCA, Communities First Central Cluster, and The University of South Wales.
