This video shows excerpts from the film Tūātea commissioned by the Mana Moana Collective for the Digital Ocean 2020.
The film Tūātea, by Louise Potiki Bryant, featuring dancer Bianca Hyslop, with music by Paddy Free and taonga pūoro by Horomona Horo, is inspired by Hinemoana, atua wahine of the moana. Tūātea explores the power of the moana and the huge breaking waves of an oceanic storm. The film ends with an expression of the profound calm at the lowest depths of the ocean when the surface of the moana is at its most turbulent.
