Cinego Shorts is proud to present The Journey Within a film that celebrates music and its all encompassing influence in our lives. It is a poetic exploration of the combination of traditional Pakistani music, music influenced through the west, and self-identity through the journey of a tremendously popular music programme which gave representation to Pakistani music and musicians globally.

The Journey Within is an award-winning music documentary which tells the inspiring story of how Coke Studio came into being. In doing so it has not only helped introduce Coke Studio to new audiences worldwide but also served as one of the first feature music documentaries to come out of Pakistan, screening at leading film festivals and distinguished events across Asia, Europe, UK and the US where it won Best of Fest at its premiere at the Full Bloom Film Festival and was honored with the Silver Remi Award at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival. In 2019, the film was chosen as the Best Film from all South Asian countries to represent the DFW South Asian Film Festival at the 2019 BEST OF FESTS event in Dallas, and included in the South Asian Cinema course at the University of California in Davis. The film has also had a unique special screening at the Parliament of the World Religions, the largest interfaith gathering event in the world, where past speakers have included the likes of Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter, the Dalai Lama, Queen Rania amongst others.
