“The Dream #9-2380 (IK-6)”, a short film, explores the consciousness of a person living behind the bars. The film uses inmate’s monologues in order to show prison through the lens of the incarcerated, revealing to the viewer a hypnotizing and oneiric vision. The filmmaker avoids a gruesome or moralistic approach and focuses on the person and his most prized possessions - his dreams and reality.
The film’s documentary footage from inside the plastic recycling workshop and living areas at Penal Colony number 6 (IK-6) is tightly woven with an unreserved inmate’s monologue and helps the viewer understand the perception of reality behind the barbed wire fence.
