In Scotland there are over 5000 working fisherman who use 2 types of catching techniques
1. Boats using mobile trawl nets, dredges and
2. Boats using static creels.
These 2 fishing methods are now diverging more and more as to which is best for Scotland’s inshore waters.
The Scottish Government are currently looking into this difference of opinion due to pressure from Scottish creel fisherman.
The Scottish Creel fisherman are looking for mobile fishing gear such as fishing trawls to be banned from operating anywhere within 3 miles of the Scottish coast.
This short film will look at the main arguments for both sides and allow the viewer to gather their own conclusions. It hopefully spur them to research this subject further.
