“Text Me When You Get Home” is a short visual that aims to provide a short insight into women’s safety.
In response to the tragic disappearance and death of Sarah Everard which shook the world, the film's purpose is to highlight the sad truth of the precautions many women are forced to take when walking alone at night.
It should not be a woman’s responsibility to stay safe.
It is time for men to educate themselves, realise what is unacceptable treatment of women, and allow them the freedom and respect to go about their lives in the utmost safety and confidence. There is a long way to go, with 97% of women between the ages of 18-24 having experienced some form of harassment.
Everyone deserves the right to safety. We should all be able to live fear free. It’s time to educate, have conversations and raise awareness.
