Markaela: Hi SI, I’m Markaela Gadduang *closes locker to reveal Izzy*

Izzy: and I’m Izzy de Souza, and here are your morning announcements!

*Shift to in front of the art wall*

Markaela: "Hey SI! Did you know that the average US citizen throws away 70 pounds of clothing and other textiles annually? Synthetic fabrics like polyester and lycra found in clothing can take hundreds of years to biodegrade. However, one Warm Coat has been able to keep 17 million clothes out of landfills since 1992! Let’s keep our clothes out of the trash by donating your gently used coats, sweaters, scarves, mittens or gloves to the 2021 SI’s Red Cross One Warm Coat Drive to help keep others in need warm! You can donate to boxes marked with One Warm Coat around campus from October 7th through October 28th. When donating, please make sure the items are in clean condition. Izzy: MedCats is hosting its Kick-Off event today at 2pm during X-Period. It will be in Room 325, where members will get special insight into some of the exciting planned events for this year, such as high school research, professional medical guest speakers, and more. Markaela: There will be a Callaghan Club meeting on 27 Sep at the start of X period in Rm 226. If you are interested in military service, want to learn more about military service, or participate in community service opportunities to support veterans and the men and women currently serving in the military, please come to the meeting.
