-T-35, directed by Sarah Thomas (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6648524/)
For this project, I worked as part of sound team of six. My job was to design the robot SFX (voice, motors/servos, POV shots) then import everyone’s work to a master session and co-mix the final product with my colleague Ian Chase. This amount of work could have been done by one person, but we had access to a professional mix-stage, so we wanted to replicate the Hollywood post-sound model for practice! Our master session had over 200 tracks; Ian and myself used a D-Command console to mix, both of us riding faders on different tracks simultaneously.

-The Feeling of Being Watched, directed by Assia Boundaoui (http://www.feelingofbeingwatched.com/)
For this feature length documentary, my role was dialogue editor. Like most documentaries it was shot in a run-and-gun style, which presented some interesting challenges because a lot of the recorded dialogue was unclear due to background noise or the subject being too far from the mic. I used the de-noising plugins within Izotope RX7 to clean each clip as much as possible, then edited those in Pro Tools like I normally would to create a smooth and cohesive dialogue track without distracting drop-outs or changes in noise-floor. This film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and went on to win thirteen awards for filmmaking and journalism. It’s now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

-Four, directed by Shane Jensen (https://gingerkearns.com/four)
This project was written and directed by a close friend who brought me on as the only sound crew early on. I filled all roles from boom operating and location mixing on set through the edits, revisions and final mix. The goal was to create an intimate feeling for the viewer, to feel the pain that the characters feel. By using multiple lavs and making sure we had a quiet set I was able to record the production audio very clearly. This good recording ultimately allowed that intimacy of the performance to carry through in the edit and final mix making you feel like you’re right there in the room with them.
