Repertory/Performance on Film – Mike Esperanza 10 am – 2 pm Mountain Time - Limited to 20 participants. This workshop focuses on performing in a dance film created by N.Y.C.-based mover and maker, Mike Esperanza. It offers a rare and significant opportunity to work with Mike as a choreographer, filmmaker, and dance educator. Mike is known for his phenomenal ability to design group dances from an architectural perspective. In addition to setting and editing a group dance for the virtual showcase, Mike will provide education on dance technique, creating movement, and offer tips on how to film dance. (lighting, location, space usage, tripods, etc.) Participants will have access to the piece for their own viewing after the intensive is over.
