This is the first directorial opportunity I was able to have in my VCU Cinema Class. The objective of the class is to watch, study and recreate certain scenes using the approach of Mise-en-Scene. The scene we chose to study was from Ingmar Bergman's 1966 film, Persona. The scene can be found three quarters of the way into the film. The task was to learn how to implement jump cuts in filmmaking.
The feelings I had while directing this were otherworldly--it felt like I was floating but I was in control of everything. Perhaps that is how Bergman felt when making films. Thank you to VCUarts and VCU Cinema Department for giving me this opportunity.
Acting done by Imogen and Emily, thank you.
Directed by me
