We created Momentous as an ode to the African/African-American experience transcending through time. In curating the overall concept, it was critical that we had the artists fully immerse in their environments. We visited Historic Stagville plantation to film at an authentic plantation where our ancestors physically walked and then to Garysville, NC where we filmed at one of Julius Tillery's many plots of land where he still farms cotton and other crops.

We visited HBCU's including a team members Alma Mater at Morgan State University where Dr. David Wilson continues to make tremendous progress in rehabilitating the university into a modern institution serving as a Mecca of learning and research. We also visited historic Johnson C. Smith and North Carolina Central Universities.

We tried to channel the greats including Mr. Spike Lee's iconic double dolly shot and included original transcription from Mr. Fountain Hughes who was an actual slave, and the incredible Dr. Maya Angelou in her poem, "We Wear the Mask".
